Cookie and Browser Storage Notice

1. Plain-language summary

This notice supplements the Privacy Policy. It covers Gerai’s corporate website, merchant platform, and Gerai-powered storefronts. A merchant or an external service reached from a storefront may have its own storage and privacy practices.

2. Technology we use

A cookie is a small value that a website asks a browser to send back with later requests. Browser localStorage is different: it stores data in the browser for the site, but the browser does not automatically attach that data to every server request. Server-side operational analytics are produced on Gerai’s systems from requests and events rather than by placing an analytics identifier in the browser.

3. gerai-cart local storage

A storefront uses gerai-cart so that adding an item does not immediately lose the cart when the buyer changes page or closes and returns to the browser. The stored value contains cart state needed for that function, such as the merchant storefront identifier, product and variant references, quantities, price information shown to the buyer, and related display data.

Cart storage is functional, not an advertising profile. It is read by Gerai storefront code to display and update the cart. The stored cart does not itself complete an order or charge a payment method. Order and delivery details are sent to the server only when the buyer takes the relevant checkout or order action.

localStorage normally remains until the browser, the user, or the storefront code clears or replaces it. Gerai does not state a fixed expiry period because the browser storage does not use one. Shared-device users should clear site data after use if they do not want later users of that browser to see the saved cart.

4. Server-side operational analytics

When a browser or connected service requests Gerai, the server necessarily receives technical information such as the requested route, request time, IP address, and browser or protocol information. Gerai may use request records and diagnostic events to understand whether the service is working, investigate faults, protect accounts and storefronts, detect misuse, and plan technical improvements.

This processing occurs on the server. It does not require Gerai to set a browser analytics cookie or place a third-party analytics tag in the page. Operational records may still be personal data where they relate to an identifiable person, so they are handled under the Privacy Policy.

5. Technology we do not use

Gerai does not currently deploy the following on the website or storefront browser experience:

• browser analytics cookies used to recognise a visitor across sessions;
• advertising, remarketing, or cross-site behavioural tracking cookies;
• social-media pixels used to build advertising audiences;
• a Gerai cookie containing optional-consent preferences; or
• a consent banner that pretends to control technologies that are not present.

Browser privacy signals and cookie settings do not switch off server-side records needed to receive, secure, and diagnose a request. They can, however, be used to block or clear browser storage according to the browser’s capabilities.

6. Payment and external services

Gerai does not hold buyer funds or collect payment credentials for its own use. During payment, a buyer may interact with a licensed payment service. That service may use cookies, browser storage, fraud-prevention signals, or other technology under its own terms and privacy notice. Its technology is not a Gerai browser analytics cookie merely because the buyer reached the service from a Gerai-powered storefront.

Links, embedded resources, or messaging actions may also lead to a merchant or another external service. The relevant provider is responsible for explaining its own technologies. Buyers should review notices presented by that provider where applicable.

7. Your controls

You can manage Gerai’s functional cart storage through your browser:

1. open the browser’s privacy, storage, or site-data settings;
2. find the relevant Gerai storefront or Gerai site entry; and
3. clear its stored site data or local storage.

Browsers also provide developer tools that can display localStorage for a site. Clearinggerai-cart removes the cart saved in that browser, so selected products and quantities will need to be added again. Blocking all site storage may prevent the cart from working as intended.

Because Gerai is not currently asking for consent to browser analytics or advertising cookies, there is no separate “accept”, “reject”, or “manage preferences” control on this page. Contact us if your browser shows a Gerai cookie or storage item that is not explained here so we can investigate it.

8. Changes and contact

If Gerai introduces another material browser-storage technology, browser analytics cookie, or advertising technology, this notice will be updated and any consent mechanism required by applicable law will be implemented before the technology is used where required.
